La violencia a los ancianos ya no debe ser tabú
El maltrato a mayores es la forma de violencia doméstica menos detectable y más ocultada por las familias. No sabe con exactitud la incidencia de estas conductas, precisamente por la dificultad de detectar casos concretos, pero se estima que en torno al 3% de las familias presentan este maltrato.
Pueden observarse cinco tipos de maltrato a ancianos, según se desprende del estudio más completo realizado hasta ahora, a cargo de Isabel Iborra para el Centro Reina Sofía: físico, psicológico, negligencia, abuso económico y abuso sexual. El abuso económico es el más frecuente y al que apenas se le presta atención. "El agresor utiliza el dinero de la víctima sin su consentimiento, le obliga a modificar el testamento, a cambiar de nombre la vivienda", relata Isabel Iborra, es psicóloga forense y coordinadora científica del Reina Sofía. El agresor, por tanto, sería aquella persona que depende o está interesado en la pensión o herencia del abuelo, normalmente padre o abuelo. En este caso el agredido asume cierta compasión en esta agresión, ya que sabe que si no accede a las peticiones su agresor caerá en cierto desamparo.
La negligencia y el maltrato psicológico siguen en frecuencia al abuso económico. La negligencia muestra diversas caras: desde administrar mal las dosis de los medicamentos (por exceso o por defecto) hasta no proporcionar los cuidados básicos, como alimentación, higiene y vestido apropiados. Por su parte, el maltrato psicológico hace que el anciano se sienta como una carga inútil y pesada al cuidador, rechazado y humillado, privado de un mínimo afecto.
"Los mayores no reconocen el maltrato por tabú y porque no lo ven, porque sus vidas han sido muy duras y están acostumbrados en cierta medida. Otros sienten culpabilidad porque son sus hijos y ellos, piensan, los han educado así. La culpabilidad es grande. El qué habré hecho yo para que me traten así", explica Isabel Iborra. Los agredidos no son los únicos que no lo reconocen como tal: la sociedad no considera maltrato estas actitudes. "El reconocimiento social del maltrato no siempre es exacto, no lo distinguen a veces ni los trabajadores sanitarios o sociales, y sí, es un tabú", coincide María Teresa Bazo, catedrática de Sociología de la Universidad del País Vasco.
La conducta eminentemente doméstica hace que las agresiones no salgan a la luz y por ello no reciben condena pública. "Lo común es el maltrato continuado e indetectable, personas atemorizadas en casa sin contacto social ni comunicación con el exterior. No hay llamadas telefónicas, nadie los ve. Todo ello deriva en una falta de conciencia real, que no se perciben como un problema social y por tanto, tampoco como un problema político", describe María Teresa Bazo.
No podemos seguir callando ante imágenes como éstas. No podemos seguir siendo cómplices del maltrato a nuestros mayores, ni seguir considerándolo un tabú.

EL AMOR TIENE HISTORIA
14 de Febrero Día del amor y la amistad
Existen muchos mitos y leyendas acerca de esta celebración, se habla de un emperador romano llamado Claudio III que no creía en el amor, decía que los soldados enamorados y casados no eran eficientes, por lo que prohibió los casamientos; caso contrario a lo que pensaba un mártir cristiano llamado Valentino.
Él se dedicaba a casar en secreto parejas enamoradas, hecho que lamentablemente lo llevó a la muerte, ya que por no haber obedecido las ordenes del emperador fue sacrificado un día 14 de Febrero del año 270.
Posteriormente y en honor a este mártir, la celebración del Día de San Valentín se hace oficial en el año de 1969. recordando a este santo cada 14 de Febrero.
Por otro lado, esta aquella famosa leyenda de una pareja de jóvenes enamorados que fueron separados por su familia, y que como no podían verse tuvieron que demostrarse su amor a base de mensajes.
Ella encendía una lámpara que iluminaba su ventana y el como respuesta le dejaba una piedra, finalmente en una ocasión la señal no apareció y esperando afuera de la ventana de su amada, el joven muere de frío. A partir de entonces y recordando a esta pareja se celebra el 14 de Febrero como día de los enamorados.
El cupido o dios del amor también hace su aparición en esta fecha, y al igual que los personajes anteriores también tiene su historia.
Cupido sintió el amor en una joven princesa llamada psique. Aquel pequeñito con su arco y flechas que al herir despertaban el amor, también tuvo que sufrir al no poder ver a los ojos a su amada por que ella era mortal y el viviría para la eternidad, pero los dioses se compadecieron de psique y la hicieron inmortal para que así pudiera estar junto a su amado cupido.
El día de San Valentín como puedes darte cuenta, no es una celebración que salió de la nada; detrás de ese 14 de Febrero que celebramos cada año, hubo antes una historia de muerte y amor, afortunadamente hoy en día ya sólo es símbolo de alegría y festejo, una fecha propicia para dar, agradar y enamorar.

DÍA DE LOS REYES MAGOS
El día 6 de Enero de cada año se celebra el día de los Reyes Magos. Es uno de los días más esperados por los niños, dado que en España y muchos países de América Latina es la festividad de los Reyes Magos la elegida para que sus majestades hagan la entrega de los regalos a los niños. Todo es mágico, el día anterior con la Cabalgata, la noche de la víspera, la mañana siguiente, los regalos, el carbón...
Ni la creciente actividad y generosidad de Papa Noel, ni Santa Claus han hecho eclipsar a lo Reyes Magos.
Para celebrar un buen día de los Reyes Magos es necesario con anterioridad haber seguido unos pasos
Portarse bien. Portarse bien durante todo el año.
La carta a los reyes magos. Escribir una bonita y sincera carta con los regalos y hablarle a los Reyes de cómo nos hemos portado y cómo nos vamos a portar en el futuro... Se puede dirigir a uno de los tres reyes magos (Melchor, Gaspar o Baltasar) o los tres. Hay que poner todos los regalos y deseos. Pide buenos deseos, así los reyes serán más generosos con los juguetes. Recuerda que debes decir la verdad.
Entregar al carta a los Reyes, bien escrita, sin faltas de ortografía (que te ayuden tus papas)... Buzones, pajes, incluso a los propios Reyes si lo han previsto así tras la Cabalgata.
Ir a darles la bienvenida a la Cabalgata de Reyes. Por su puesto, si pueden llevarnos nuestros padres, ir a darles la bienvenida a la Cabalgata de Reyes más próxima.
Cenar pronto y tomar el Roscón. Tomarnos después de la cena un buen roscón de reyes, lo que nos salga en el roscón es un presagio de la suerte que vamos a tener el día de Reyes.
Prepararlo todo esa noche de Reyes. Hay que irse a dormir pronto la noche de Reyes. Pero antes hay que dejar todo preparado. El sitio donde van a dejar lo regalos, agua, algo de alimento y bebida para los Reyes y sus camellos...
Por la mañana, el día de Reyes, ir a despertar a los padres para que nos acompañen a ver los regalos que nos han dejado.. Suerte y ¡feliz día de Reyes!!!
